lyrics
Hey Hey
It’s the end of the day
and some are sleeping
and some stare the night away
Some find their comfort in the peeling of a page
Some dance all night, awkward and true
dancing for a feeling, any feeling in the blue
I’d dance for a story, any story will do
Once I thought your words were threads upon my skin
and your voice, of course, a needle, that tied them all within
But turns we had no story, no story within
We had no story, just a dramatic arc
and when the rain it came for days that arc could not float us through them darkest parts
I opened my eyes and I stared up at the sky
There was love on my breath
and I could taste it still
Like I taste the day you left
and home became a feeling
Home was a feeling I could not place
I can sing about the road but can I sing about my street?
I can feel it in my bones
can I feel it in my feet?
Home, home was a feeling I could not place
Home was a feeling I could not place
and this story was a map whose lines we could not trace
Could you finish your story?
Could you finish mine?

Saw this man open for Grouper at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and was totally surprised by how blown away I was by his performance. I knew I had to buy his music off of Bandcamp soon after that. Listening to these sounds is like watching a sunrise. James Loves You

This is a fantastic live record. Every track is as good or better than the original recording. The exclusive cover songs are also excellent. Jason is a gentle hurricane, and I can't wait to hear more from him someday. Sam Speer

I heard this song on welcome to nightvale years ago and only recently looked into the story behind this song. I sobbed listening to it for the first time after and the connection I feel to this song is unbelievable Asteraceae
